Who we are

This policy covers Statistle, a Windows desktop application published on the Microsoft Store by Dean Eaglin ("we", "us"), the publisher named on the app's Store listing. Contact: ron.eaglin@gmail.com.

Summary

Statistle is free statistics software for students: you enter a data table, choose an analysis, and it computes the result, explains every input and every number it reports, and writes the Python and R that reproduce the same analysis. It follows the syllabus of EGN3443 Probability and Statistics for Engineers.

Statistle collects nothing and transmits nothing. It runs entirely on your own computer. There are no accounts, no advertising, no analytics, and no network connection of any kind — the application works with the internet switched off.

What we collect

Nothing. No personal information, no usage or diagnostic data, no device identifiers, no location. The app does not ask you to sign in and has no in-app purchases.

Your work, and where it stays

Everything you enter — data tables, analysis settings, project names — is your own work, written only to your own computer:

• Documents\Statistle — project files (.statistle), and any report or generated Python or R script you export. You can save anywhere else you like through the ordinary Save dialog.
• %LOCALAPPDATA%\Statistle — recovery autosave, so an interrupted session can be restored.
• Your Windows temporary folder — the HTML of a report or an instructions page at the moment you ask to open it in your browser. Windows clears these in the normal way.

None of it is uploaded or synchronised anywhere. Deleting these files, or uninstalling Statistle, removes them from your computer. We have no copy and no way to obtain one.

The Code tab

Statistle's Code tab writes Python and R source for your data and your chosen analysis, so you can read it, learn from it, and run it yourself elsewhere. Statistle does not execute that code, does not install Python or R, and does not send your data or the generated script anywhere. It is text on your screen until you copy or save it.

Network use

Statistle makes no network connections. It contains no code that opens a socket, calls a web service, checks for updates, or reports errors.

Permissions

The Store package declares one capability, runFullTrust. That is the standard capability for any full desktop (Win32) application, and it is what lets Statistle read and write your own project files through ordinary Windows file dialogs. It is not used to reach any other application's data, and Statistle never needs administrator rights.

Third parties

Statistle includes open-source components — for example MathNet.Numerics for the numerical routines and ScottPlot for charts. They run locally as part of the application and transmit nothing. Microsoft operates the Store you downloaded Statistle from, and Microsoft's own privacy statement covers that download; the application itself stays offline.

Retention and deletion

Because nothing is stored off your computer, there is nothing for us to retain or delete. Deleting your project files, or uninstalling the app, removes everything it holds.

Children

Statistle is a study tool for college statistics students. Because it collects no information from anyone, it collects none from children.

Changes to this policy

Updates will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
